'The Glass Thrower', Art Basel

Throwing a glass ball is something immediate, an impulse of destruction, a way to liberate tension. It is instinctive in a way. 'The Glass Thrower' was a fashion performance which manifested itself in a somatic play of throwing glass balls. The performer was dressed by Antwerp-based French designer Elise Gettliffe, whose costume referenced the movement of placing and replacing pieces, as when you make a puzzle - a patient and controlled hobby. It consisted of three mechanisms: movement of the arms, concentration of the eyes and filling the emptiness.   Costume design: Elise Gettliffe Performance and art direction: Anna Kushnerova and Romain Brau
