Robbert Pauwels, Sculpture Residency

From February 8th - March 4th RA welcomes the Dutch sculptor Robbert Pauwels for a three week residency in the new atelier, upstairs at RA Antwerp. Robbert will utilise the space to prepare new works, which will be revealed at the end of the month for an open view of the studio space and an exhibition in the downstairs gallery corridor. Robbert's work is concerned with multi-layered expression, including moulded forms and found objects composed together for an abstract result. He works with household furniture and industrial materials as well as polyurethane and polystyrene, to create surreal interpretations of existing products (past projects include a pop-up vodka bar and a fringed ping-pong table).
